When I was working in court my boss told me to train a new colleague in the duties of a court usher. She showed up at work just a few times and then disappeared. It later turned out that she had gone on sick leave and sent a letter to HR asking to be transferred to another department because this job was “too hard” for her. She never showed up since then. But lately I saw her later at a job interview at the courthouse, where we were both applying for a job. To be honest, I’ve never seen anyone go to such lengths to avoid work and make excuses to get out of it.
